Day 13 Animal Print(31DC)

I did animal print today and the sad thing is, no matter how hard I tried either the colors wouldn't stamp right or other nonsense would happen.  It was very frustrating so this is how my nails turned out.

They aren't what I wanted but after redoing them four times, this is just how they ended up.  I did two coats of Essie's She's Picture Perfect and I stamped with Sally Hansen Co-Bolt Blue.  I wish they weren't so smeary but I've been trying out new top coats and some just aren't good for stamping nails.

Day 12 Stripes(31DC)

Today is stripes.  I freehanded these stripes so they may be a bit crazy and I also picked super wacky colors so bear with me here.

Tomorrow is Animal Print and hopefully my idea for these will work, it's so hard for me to find good stamping colors.

Polishes Used:
Urban Outfitters Slime
Lime Crime Peaches<3 Cream
China Glaze Surfin' for the Boys
China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard

Day 11 Dots(31DC)

Today is dots!  With this manicure I was going for a simple manicure and I like how this one turned out.  In fact when I finished I was like this looks alot like Dippin' Dots.

Anyway this was super simple to do I did three coats of Sally Hansen(smooth perfect) Satin.  Then I just layered on the dots in varying sizes.  For all you out there who don't have dotting tools, I know I have said this before but I don't have them and I use two sizes of bobby pins and the back of a paint brush for all my sizes.  It work's sooo good so if you're ever in a pinch (or cheap like me) this works.

Polishes Used:
Sally Hansen's Satin
Wet N Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint
Julep Reese
Revlon First Class

Day 10 Gradient (31DC)

Today we have Gradient nails.  They were pretty easy for me to do and I think they have come out the best of all my gradient nails I have done.

Lots of people do a base color when they do this technique, but for myself I don't.  My reasoning behind this is if you're doing a dark color over a powerful light color -- for example blue to yellow, and you're dark is thin, then it turns into a whole different color(green in that situation) sometimes.  So, the way I do it, is just put my clear base coat and do 3-4 layers of the graident it comes out pretty thick and smooth looking.

Polishes Used:
Essie Sure Shot
Julep Niecy
A England Avalon
Also, as you guys may have noticed, today is the TENTH DAY!  Yay I made it that far with only a few flubs.  So here is a compilation of everything up to today.

Thanks to everyone who has been reading my blog and all my new followers y'all are awesome!

Day 9 Rainbow(31DC)

Hey Guys!  Today is Rainbow and this manicure was fun to do because I've never done a "spun sugar" manicure before.  It may not look EXACTLY like spun sugar but I love it and I used a ridiculous amount of polishes so be prepared for the list.

My skin is way dry in these pictures so excuse it.  If you've never heard of or done the spun sugar manicure before basically what you do is pick you polish and put about four dollops on your mat or where ever you put your paint.  Then you get a toothpick and kinda wait a bit, then swirl it around until the polish gets nice and stringy.  Then you can drag it over the nail.

Anyway here's the list of polishes.

China Glaze: In the Lime Light, Sun-Kissed, Sun Worshipper, Surfin' for the Boys, Gaga for Green, Ride the Waves
Icing: Little Blue Box
A England: Order of the Garter, Avalon
Color Show: Sweet Clementine
L'Oreal: Tweet Me
Essie: Sure Shot
Spoliled: Checkin' into Rehab
Julep: Catherine
Sally Hansen: Blue me Away
Urban Outfitters: Slime

See you guys tomorrow for Gradient nails FUN FUN!

Day 8 Metallic

Today is metallic nails and I'm actually doing this update from my iPhone so we'll see how this goes.

With these nails I used China Glaze Under the Boardwalk as my base; it was two coats. I stamped BM - 224 on all my nails except the middle which is BM-201. I used Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and achieved exactly the look I wanted.

I think my stamping skills are getting pretty awesome and it might be time to buy some more plates! Tomorrows rainbow and I can't wait, see y'all then.

Day 7 Black and White(31 Day Nail Challenge)

So I'm such a loser.  I had my post and pictures all ready yesterday and then when I got home from a late night out I jumped into bed and went to sleep.  So this is a tad late :(

Excuse the smear Julep Fast Dry Top Coat smears stamps.

Today I did Black and White stamping.  I did two coats of white(Sally Hansen's White Out) on each nail then I stamped over them with Bm-201 Black Creme from Wet N Wild.  Then I did two coats of black on my middle finger.  It came out really pretty and I think these nails could be worn for a formal function.

Anyway hopefully this afternoon I won't be lazy and I'll post my metallic nails.

Day 6 Purple (31 Day Nail Challenge)

Hey guys this is going to be a super short post.  I had a really long day so that's why this is so late in the evening.

Anyway here are my purple nails.  I went and bought Spoiled Checkin' into Rehab and I'm kinda sad because you can't really see the true beauty of this color.

This is a Bright purple with violet sparkles all throughout it; it's pretty awesome actually.  Also, on my middle finger, I put some Orly Can't be Tamed but its kinda difficult to see as well. :(  This was three coats and you still can see nail line in the pictures, maybe four would have gotten rid of it but I'm not sure.  Also, excuse the cuticles washing my hands thirty times a day kills my hands.

For black and white I'm gonna do some stamping, it feels like it has been eons since I've done it so I'm excited.

Day 5 Blue(31 Day Nail Challenge)

Blue is the color for today.  I really enjoyed doing this manicure.  A little background, I LOVE owls, I have owl stuff all over my house I even made my nursery owl themed for when my son was born.  So I was like let’s give this a whirl.

Besides hand painting the owl, I wanted to try out a jelly sandwich with my Revlon Royal.  Yes I know that is not a typical jelly sandwich color; it’s very pigmented and dark.   My attempt was sad because you could barely see the glitter.  I took some acetone and just pulled off a tad of the paint.  I’m very thrilled with the overall look and hope y’all enjoy it as well.
Tomorrow’s purple and I only have one polish and one purple glitter so I might have to run to the store.  I can’t believe I don’t have very many purples.  Well I’ll see y’all tomorrow.
Polishes Used:
Revlon Royal
Revlon Radiant
Wet N Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint
Lime Crime Once in a Blue Mousse

Day 4 Green(31 Day Nail Challenge)

Today is GREEN!  I like the cloud manicure it is one of my favorites so forgive the fact that I do it a lot.  Anyway these nails might be a little dinged up.  I apologize for that but I did them last night and I work at a  preschool so I knew that my nails might be rough for these 31 days.

This manicure is so fun and easy I love it!  It almost reminds me of Super Mario I just need to add some points blocks.  Anyway tomorrow we have Blue another really fun color!

Polishes Used:
China Glaze Gaga for Green (2 coats base)
Lime Crime Pastelchio
China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard

Day 3 Yellow(31 Day Nail Challenge)

Sorry this is so late in the evening.  Hopefully I can get my act together and get these up in a timelier manner but today being Labor Day I just had a lot to do.  Well, today is day three, yellow, so I decided to paint my nails 3 different colors of yellow.

Polished Used:
Sinful Colors Let’s Meet
Sinful Colors Unicorn
L’Oreal Tweet Me
These pictures look extremely yellow because I had to take them in a different place then I normally do.  Plus I usually use natural light for my pictures and this is lamp light ughh.  I know these aren’t the prettiest nails I’ve ever done but it was still fun because I don’t do this color that much.  See you tomorrow on day 4 Green!  My favorite color!

Lime Crime Peaches<3Cream(light dots)
Zoya Myrta(dark sparkly dots)

Day 1 Red (31 Day Nail Challenge)

I have been gone for what feels like eons, work and a baby can do that to you.  So I decided to participate in the 31 day nail challenge starting today.  I've seen a ton of bloggers doing it so I was like I'll give it a go and hopefully it'll keep me posting!

with flash you can almost see the true color of the red.

Today's nails are supposed to be red.  Well of all the colors in the world I can barley stand red so to keep it fun and fresh I threw some blue with it.  Also this is my first time to attempt the "saran wrap" manicure even though I had to substitute a zip lock bag.  I like it though!

Polishes Used:
Julep Catherine
NYC Water Street Blue

Here's a chart for the 31 day nail challenge that I got from Chalkboard Nails.

Purple, Purple, and MORE Purple!

As you guys who read my blog know I got one of the $200 Julep Maven Mystery boxes.  I couldn’t wait to actually use my polishes plus I have a fancy function tonight so I made my nails look lovely.

The base coat for all my nails except my ring finger is Juleps Gayle, I think this may be one of my new favorite colors.  These were opaque in two coats the only real problem was the brush that came with it.  It was so wonky and crazy I think it’s just a bad brush because all the others were normal.  My ring finger is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Purple Haste that nail took three coats to be opaque.  My middle finger has Love & Beauty by Forever 21 on it, it doesn’t have a name and after looking at the website I can’t really tell which one it is.  The dots on my index are done with Essie She’s Picture Perfect and the dots on my pinkie are Essie Sure Shot.
All in all I really like how these look and I think they’re going to be really nice for my night out tonight.  Oh and I also used Julep Basecoat and Fast Dry Topcoat on all my nails, since I haven’t taken this polish off yet we’ll see how the basecoat does with staining and what not.  The topcoat could be a little shinier I need to toss it on a few more manicures to be sure.
Well until next time!

August Mystery Box (YAY for tons of stuff!)

My day just got super duper awesome!  So everyone knows that this month Julep Maven did one of their Mystery Boxes;  I actually opted out of the August box this month.  So I was like hey I got an extra 20 bucks why not snag a mystery box.

To my delight I’m pretty sure I ended up with one of the $200 boxes!  It came with ten nail polishes: Fast Dry Topcoat, Basecoat, Maya, Jodie, Reese, Gayle, Audrey (I already have this one L) , Jennifer, Gwyneth, and Catherine.  I also received the Julep Reveal Nail Growth Revitalizing Serum and both Pomegranate Body Crème and Scrub.  All in all this is not too shabby a box.  I can’t wait to try out many of my polishes plus I did need new top and basecoats.

My son wanted to help me unbox it.

So many goodies!

Anyway after talking about all my goodies I should show y’all some nails, after all it is my favorite thing to do.  Yesterday I stopped at the store and picked up OPI’s Ger-minis set and I’ve been so into the cloud mani this week that I redid it with them.

This came out very dark and broody I love it!  The colors show much more outside in the sun.  I ended up using Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine!, Unfor-gretably Blue, and Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs.  If you’re looking for a subtle beautiful look for your nails this is perfect.  Until next time!
